Just select the underline tool. Type spaces. 

Navigate away from the page (page up or down) so the underlining you did is not
on screen. Then come back to display the underlined text. You will see that the
underlining is about twice as long as the text you chose to underline. You can
confirm this by selecting to the end of the line. The highlight will stop about
half way along the distance of the underlining you can see.

Also, “right-aligned tab†feature is not working for me. I wonder if these two
defects are related? They both relate to underlining which is why I mention them
both in this report.

On the line above, I selected Format → Paragraph → Tabs . I selected “Right†for
the type and “underline†for the fill character. Notice there is no underlining.


I have a sample document that demonstrates these defects. I can't see how to
